Laser Skin Rejuvenation (Frax Pro™)

What is it? 

The Frax Pro™ system is a non-ablative fractional laser that performs both shallow (Frax 1940™) and deep (Frax 1550™) skin resurfacing.This dual-depth technology makes it ideal for the treatment of acne scars, wrinkles, surgical scars, textural irregularities, stretch marks and actinic keratosis.

How does it work? 

The Frax Pro laser works on the principle of controlled damage. The device delivers precise and minute bursts of energy, the duration, depth and width of which are completely customisable by Professor Firas. The heat delivered by the laser stimulates the production of collagen and jumpstarts the skin’s healing process, rejuvenating the complexion over the following three months. Discomfort is reduced by an in-built skin cooling system and numbing cream if necessary. Since each patient’s needs are unique, Professor Firas will discuss your goals in depth prior to treatment. 

How long does it last? 

The Frax Pro system rejuvenates the underlying skin tissue while leaving the surface of the skin intact, allowing for minimal downtime and faster healing. The heat delivered by the laser can feel like light sunburn and it is normal for skin to look pink or feel sensitised after treatment. Once the effects become apparent, they can last for up to three years.

The procedure usually takes from 30 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. Most patients are offered a course of three treatments but this will vary according to your specific needs. It is essential to wear an SPF on skin after laser rejuvenation.
