Rosacea & Scarring (Vbeam® Prima)

What is it? 

VBeam® Prima is a pulsed dye laser system designed to treat a variety of vascular and pigmented lesions including rosacea, spider veins, port-wine stains, birthmarks and broken capillaries. It can also be used on scars, sun damage, age spots, wrinkles, and inflammatory acne vulgaris.

This multifaceted technology has been used in the medical arena for 20 years with a very low incidence of side effects. The Taktouk Clinic houses the latest version of the VBeam® Prima, which boasts an extra wavelength (1064 nm) that goes deeper into the skin, delivering better results in less time. 

How does it work? 

VBeam® Prima is a customisable pulsed dye laser, which means it uses a special dye to generate different colours of laser beams, which are delivered to the skin in pulses. These wavelengths are readily absorbed by the oxyhaemoglobin in the blood vessels where they clear dilated blood vessels to reveal smoother, more even-toned skin. Customisable settings and spot sizes can be used to treat your specific skin concern.

The VBeam® Prima system has in-built cooling technology to minimise any discomfort.

How long does it last? 

After an average of 2-6 VBeam® 595nm laser treatments, patients with blood vessels on the face had a visual improvement of 75% to 100%. Those with inflammatory acne experienced a 90% reduction in lesions. The size of the treatment area will determine how long your appointment takes but most facial treatments are complete in twenty minutes. Results can last for up to two years.
