What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are gels made of hyaluronic acid. Our bodies make hyaluronic acid naturally every day but break them down after 72 hours.  Hyaluronic acid binds water molecules therefore creating volume. Dermal fillers are formulations of hyaluronic acid which last longer in the skin. They can be used throughout the face for volumisation, correction of lines and for individual areas like noses, lips and under eyes. We use Teoxane fillers exclusively at Taktouk Clinic because of their award winning and cutting edge RHA technology and safety profile.

How do they work?

After a full consultation with one of our doctors you will have a bespoke treatment plan advised. The treatment involves injecting the dermal fillers into the skin. The dermal fillers are formulated with lidocaine which is an anaesthetic to make the injections more comfortable.

How long do they last?

Not all dermal fillers are created equally. Depending on the area of the face injected the correct consistency of gel will be selected to match the tissues being treated. They vary in consistency with the thicker gels lasting up to 18 months.
